You will use the hour in the computer lab to practice using researching skills online. The two groups will research their topic to prepare for a debate tomorrow.
Use the researching skills we have discussed to find different types of sources online. Think about which sources are most useful and which should not be relied on.
Take notes on the different types of sources you find and which were most helpful. Take notes on your topic to prepare an argument for tomorrow’s debate.
Group 1 :
Euthanasia- Should this practice be legal?
Find definitions and information on laws on Euthanasia in different countries, its practice, and public opinion.
Use these sources to find facts to support your opinion and create an argument for the debate.
Agree: Ray, Lin, Luyu, Maria, Tony
Disagree: Gong, Jin, Guo, Terry, Justin
Group 2
Smoking in Public- Should this be banned?
Find articles and sources on current laws in different countries, information on smoking, and the public opinion. Use these sources to support your argument in the debate.
Agree: Katrina, Cherry, Sylvia, Lucy, Sue
Disagree: Leo, Peng, Candy, Rebecca, Galen
Everyone:
Be prepared with notes, ideas, and opinions for tomorrow's debate! Also, bring notes on the different types of sources you found and which were the most useful and why.
