Weekly Writing 2 ———— BY JIN

An phenomenon about outside laundry has provoked a debate. The supporters consider they can dry clothes outside by wind, and also it can help save the energy, while a lot of opponents argue that it’s too difficult for them to live with the blowing clothes outside. In fact, it’s definite that wind energy drying devices should be allowed with a reasonable restriction. This article will discuss the problem about the controversial outside drying laundry.

From the opinion of opponents, the clotheslines will make them feel horrible. Because of the “eyesores” they think, the prices of their houses will be affected, so the value of property will decrease.Further more,it’s not like showing the expensive car, sometimes it doesn’t look good actually. The opponents also consider that autonomy of private communities will be eroded by the law of removing clotheslines bans.

What are the supporters opinions? They have a strong awareness about energy saving and environment protecting. Otherwise, they think the picture of outside laundry is beautiful, whatever it looks like if this may help the environment. The statistics from federal estimates seems not very accurate, actual use at drying shops and multifamily homes were not accounted. So there is a bigger consumption than the data we know.

Looking at the environment and energy problem, it is necessary for us using the “wind energy drying devices”. However, we can’t only remove the clotheslines bans, we should give a balance between the environment and people’s life. Some ways can be used to relieve the contradiction between outside-drying home and neighbours like finding a place which can not be seen easily or well using the solar energy with a small beautiful glass house.

To conclude, the bans should be removed, and we shouldn’t pay attention on the debate whether removing clotheslines bans is good. We should keep the balance between human and environment. That’s the only thing we have to work on.
